Travel has been meaningful to me for as long as I can remember. My parents loved exploring the world, and the stories they brought home helped shape my own curiosity. Today, one of my favorite parts of advising is helping someone create the kind of memory they will still be talking about years later.
My background in pediatric care taught me to listen carefully, explain things clearly and pay attention to the details that can make someone feel truly taken care of. I bring that same patience and compassion to travel planning. You are never simply a file or reservation number to me.
In 2021, my husband, parents and I finally took a river cruise we had postponed during the pandemic. It became the final trip I would share with my dad before losing him nine months later. That journey strengthened something I already believed: meaningful travel should not always be left waiting for “someday.”
I especially enjoy helping travelers compare cruises, tours and complete vacations, then connecting the surrounding details so the experience feels manageable from the first conversation through the return home.

Heather Sano

Growing up in a U.S. military family meant that change, new places and different cultures were part of my life from an early age. Living in Egypt, Scotland and Germany deepened my curiosity and taught me how meaningful it can be to experience a destination beyond its familiar highlights.
My Master’s degree in Choral Conducting reflects another part of who I am: I value connection, preparation and the way many individual details come together to create one memorable experience. Those same qualities shape the way I approach each client’s vacation.
I have traveled throughout Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea and many parts of Europe, and I have sailed on numerous ocean voyages, including transatlantic cruises. I enjoy helping travelers combine comfort with authentic cultural discovery while keeping the logistics clear and thoughtfully organized.
Accessible travel planning is also especially important to me. A mobility need or other accommodation should not automatically prevent someone from sharing meaningful travel with the people they love. I help clients ask the right questions and consider the practical details that can make travel feel more comfortable and possible.

Although we bring different backgrounds and strengths, our service standard is shared. Dawn2Dusk Adventures is built around thoughtful planning, honest guidance and long-term client relationships—not one-time transactions.

Questions Travelers Often Ask Us
Do I need to know exactly where I want to go before contacting you?
Not at all. We can begin with how you want the trip to feel, who is traveling, your preferred pace, your interests, your approximate timing and the experiences that matter most. You do not need to arrive with every answer.
Will I work with Susan and Heather?
You will have a primary advisor who gets to know you and your trip. If you already know whom you would like to contact, use the direct buttons above. If not, begin with the planning form and we will help make the next step clear.
What kinds of vacations can Dawn2Dusk Adventures help plan?
We assist with river and ocean cruises, smaller ships, guided and custom journeys, rail vacations, all-inclusive resorts, accessible travel, groups, celebrations, family trips, culinary travel and many of the flights, hotels, transfers and activities surrounding those experiences.
Does your relationship with clients end once a trip is booked?
No. A reservation is only one part of the journey. Depending on the vacation, there may still be flights, hotels, transportation, excursions, travel protection, documentation, preparation and other details to consider before departure. We also want to welcome you home and learn what you enjoyed.
